Sustainability

The Farm in Oak Cliff utilizes sustainable agricultural methods. We do not have an organic certification yet, but we will utilize as many organic principles as possible while growing our produce. These methods include:

Water Conservation

Through capturing, storing, and utilizing rainwater for crops, I can ensure that plants have water that is free from additional minerals that are added to tap water, as well as reduce the strain the farm may put on the local water supply.

Integrated Pest Management

By utilizing beneficial insects such as nematodes and ladybugs to reduce harmful insects on the farm, I can ensure that my crops will be free of synthetic chemical insecticides to reduce harmful insects damaging the crops.

Pollinator Hedgerows

By planting more pollinator-friendly flowers around the farm, I can ensure I want to integrate more pollinator hedgerows to not only pollinate my crops, but hopefully increase the local pollinator population.
